PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
I am committed to providing personalized, comprehensive eye care with a strong focus on patient education, advanced diagnostic technology, and long-term visual health. My clinical approach combines precision, innovation, and attention to detail to help patients achieve their best possible vision and eye health.
BACKGROUND
Dr. Anderson grew up in California. He completed his undergraduate studies at California Lutheran University. He continued his education at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 2014. Dr. Anderson then went on to post-graduate studies at the San Diego VA Hospital, where he completed a year of residency training in Primary Care and Ocular Disease. Dr. Anderson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and currently contributes to the Academy's admittance committee.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Following his post-doctorate residency, Dr. Anderson returned to California where he joined a large private ophthalmology practice. There he had the opportunity to work alongside recognized experts in the fields of ocular disease, cataract surgery and lasik surgery. Within that practice he performed pre-operative exams and post-operative care for cataract surgery patients and refractive surgery patients (LASIK and PRK); minor surgical procedures including suture removals, foreign body removals and epilations; diabetic and medically related exams; and ARMD and glaucoma management. From there he relocated to rural Arkansas, where he provided full-scope primary care in a large private practice. There he expanded services to include management of ocular conditions caused by systemic diseases; dry eye treatment; and hard to fit contact lenses, RGP's, and ortho-k.
Dr. Anderson had always hoped Boise would be his final destination. However, life events took him from Arkansas to Tennessee where he became an assistant professor at Southern College of Optometry, training and mentoring future optometrists. After two years of teaching, Dr. Anderson at last had an opportunity to relocate to Boise.
PERSONAL
Dr. Anderson now thinks of himself an Idaho native, embracing all that Idaho has to offer. When not at the office, you will find Dr. Anderson out and about with his wife, two young children, and their two dogs. As a busy young family they enjoy their time outdoors exploring Idaho lakes and and mountains, discovering new “kid size” hiking trails, and attending community events.
