Dr Scott Gibbons


Born and raised in Nampa, Idaho Dr. Gibbons graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Health Science Studies. Dr. Gibbons graduated from Southern College of Optometry before pursuing a residency in primary care and disease at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.


Dr. Gibbons' year-long residency training provided a high-volume clinical experience dedicated to the diagnosis and management of ocular disease and complex cases. Located within the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dr. Gibbons utilized a wide range of the latest technologies - instrumentation and equipment not typically available to optometrists. Dr. Gibbons brings an elevated level of specialized training, expertise and clinical experience to the residents of Idaho.


Following residency, Dr. Gibbons joined an ophthalmology practice. Working alongside world-class ophthalmologists, Dr. Gibbons provided comprehensive eye exams and the evaluation and treatment of a broad spectrum of ocular diseases, including: glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, anterior and posterior segment, while specializing in the diagnosis and advanced treatment of dry eye. In addition, he utilized the fitting of RGP and scleral contact lenses for the assessment and treatment of corneal conditions, and has extensive experience in surgical pre and post-operative care, including: standard and premium IOLs, pterygium, blepharoplasty, LASIK, and glaucoma.

Dr. Gibbons has lectured nationally on a variety of topics related to eye disease, cataract surgery, and ocular surface disease. He has presented at national optometric meetings as well as local continuing education meetings.

Dr. Gibbons is an Idaho native, born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. He enjoys sporting events, and is an avid BSU Bronco fan. Wherever you spot Dr. Gibbons, whether enjoying the Idaho outdoors through hiking and skiing, or on the pickleball court, you will likely find him in the company of his wife, Julieann, and their 5 children.
