Visual perceptual processing is especially important when learning. Without visual perceptual processing a child cannot accurately learn to read, give or follow instructions, copy from the white board or from a book, visualize objects, visualize past events, remember things visually, have good eye-hand coordination, integrate visual information with other senses (balance, hearing, etc), or hear a sound and visually recognize where it is coming from (like a police siren), just to name a few.
Some children's visual perceptual processing skills do not develop normally. These children need help to learn these skills, and then practice using them so they become integrated and automatic.
