Your vision is important to us at Artisan Optics in Boise Idaho

We are all aware of the importance eating healthy, regular exercise, annual physicals and twice-yearly dental cleaning, but what about eye exams? There's more to a comprehensive eye exam than just getting an updated glasses or contact lens prescription. A comprehensive eye exam evaluates the function and health of the eyes, and can even detect systemic conditions and disease before symptoms are noticed.

We've all been there. You wake up in the morning to find that your eyes look a little red, they feel irritated as if there's something in your eye, lights seem a bit brighter than usual, and if you wear contact lenses they aren't as comfortable as usual.

Trust your children's vision care to our residency trained pediatric optometrist at Artisan Optics Boise Idaho

We care about your vision at Artisan Optics Boise Idaho

February is macular degeneration and low vision awareness month. There seems to be a misconception of the terms low vision/blindness. Low vision/blindness is more than not being able to see anything. It can include decreased visual acuity, decreased peripheral vision (tunnel vision), partial vision, or even blind spots in the vision that cannot be corrected with refractive aids (glasses or contacts), surgery, or medication. Some people think that because they can't see without their glasses that they are blind; however, in literal terms, because they can see with their glasses they are not blind.

Well, it is official, 2016 is over and it is time to turn over a new leaf in 2017. 2016 seemed to take the world by storm with unexpected loss, under dog victories (Chicago Cubs), and quickly advancing technologies.
