So you’ve been considering LASIK. Your timing couldn’t be better. Today’s technology is supported by decades of research, advanced engineering, and detailed refinement. The first step, however, is determining if you are a good candidate for a LASIK procedure. The only way to know for sure is to have a LASIK screening at an office that performs LASIK. You eye doctor cannot determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK just by doing your routine eye exam. A LASIK screening is the important first step.

It's inevitable, you are planning a fun weekend out and about, and you wake up with a red and irritated eye. Then comes the debate, should I just wait to see if it improves or should I go see someone about this? For the record, you should get your eye checked out! “I vant to suck your blood!” Forget Dracula, there is a new monster in town and it sucks just as bad. The Zika virus is a disease carried by mosquitoes. While it is new in the news, the Zika virus is not a new disease. The first case of Zika virus was actually documented in 1947 in Uganda; in a monkey. The Zika virus wasn't prevalent in humans until 2007 and infected individuals are generally asymptomatic; however, symptoms are possible and include: fever, headaches, rash, itching and joint pain. Most infections are mild and self resolve, just like the flu.

An ophthalmologist, a mathematician and an engineer all walk into an IHOP. Sounds like a joke, right? Hold onto your syrup, it's actually science! Researchers at the University College London are currently using pancakes to research surgical options to treat glaucoma. I know what you are thinking, “what do pancakes have to do with the eyes?” We have all dealt with the important ratio between our eyes and our stomachs when eyeing a stack of pancakes but this has to do with interactions between fluids and vapors within the pancake while it is cooking.
