Our eye doctors are dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care in Idaho.  Their dedication shows in their experience and advanced training.
  • Dr. Ryan C. Johnson is the only optometrist in Idaho with Residency Training in Neuro-OptometryBinocular Vision, and Vision Therapy.  His post-graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley was dedicated to patients with acquired or traumatic brain injury, concussions, children with Autism, ADD, ADHD, & Cerebral Palsy, children with vision-related learning difficulties, sports vision training, and the treatment of binocular vision dysfunction; amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), convergence insufficiency, eye movement disorders/tracking difficulties, and eye focusing deficits.  Dr. Johnson is the only optometrist in Idaho with this advanced training to solve vision conditions that can't be fixed with traditional glasses alone. Dr. Johnson is also one, of a select few, optometrists in Idaho to earn his fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
  • Dr. Jill A. Kronberg is Idaho's first Residency-Trained Pediatric Optometrst.  Following graduation from optometry school, Dr. Kronberg completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the University of California, Berkeley.  During her post-graduate work, Dr. Kronberg dedicated her days to seeing kids as young as 1 month old.  In addition to her work with infantstoddlers, and young children, she also worked in UC Berkeley's Multiple Disabilities Clinic, where she cared for patients of all ages with Autism, ADD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, chromosomal anomalies, cortical visual impairment, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, neuro-degenerative conditions, and many other conditions that affect development.  Dr. Kronberg is the first optometrist in Idaho who has received this specialized training in pediatrics and special needs, which means she has both the knowledge and experience to care for children of all ages. Dr. Kronberg is also one, of a select few, optometrists in Idaho to earn her fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
  • Dr. Jeffrey C. Johnson opened the first vision therapy clinic in the Treasure Valley nearly 25 years ago.  As a Developmental Optometrist, Dr. Johnson has provided eye care that is much more than checking the health of the eyes and your ability to read the 20/20 line on the chart.  With every patient he evaluates eye teaming, eye focusing, eye tracking, and several other skills that are essential to be an efficient learner.  Early on, he realized that the headaches, eyestrain, and fatigue that his pediatric patients complain of in school was also a concern for his adult patients who work on computers all day.  Taking his same developmental approach, he has managed Computer Vision Syndrome in thousands of patients to relieve visual complaints at the computer.

With experience and advanced training, our eye doctors regularly act as part of your overall care team.  Although we specialize in the eyes, we feel that our role doesn't stop there.  This philosophy is why all of our eye doctors believe in open, ongoing communication with patients, parents, and the rest of the care team (doctors, therapists, counselors, teachers, etc) to explain how the eyes and vision are impacting performance, or how a systemic condition is affecting the eyes and visual system.
