VISX STAR EXCIMER S4 IR (Iris Registration) LASER

The VISX STAR S4 Excimer Laser System uses the ActiveTrak 3-D Eye Tracker, a positioning device that uses infrared cameras to actively follow the tiniest motions of the eye in all three dimensions. This allows our surgeon to place the laser treatment on the cornea with greater precision and accuracy.

The VISX Star S4 Laser System uses variable spot beam technology. This means it adjusts the laser beam size according to the individualized treatment plan, minimizing corneal tissue removal. This also allows for shorter treatment times - typically 10 to 40 seconds.

Our LASIK Boise surgeon can also use the VISX Star S4 Variable Spot Scanning technology to add a blend zone. This allows the treatment zone to be extended to 8 mm, which helps reduce the risk of night vision symptoms such as glare and halos.
